Autobiography of David Frank Miller
My journey begins October 1978. In land far, far away, also known as New Jersey. Yup! I am a Jersey boy. Possibly the only one who says “y'all”! I know, sad, but true.
I grew up in a town called Vernon, New Jersey. I spent most of those years with my siblings snow skiing. Through my teenage years, my family would make trips to Hilton Head Island for vacation. Then, it happened! My dad got the golf bug and we were on the move to Hilton Head.
After graduating high school, I attended college for a year before deciding on a different path. I started working for my parents business, they were home builders. While learning the trade I received multiple licenses and certifications. During this experience I found that HVAC was my passion, so I left my family’s business at the age of 20 to start my own. Armed with my residential and commercial building licenses I began this venture in 1999 with a loan of $3,000 and a truck from my parents.
Being new to the industry, I knew I needed the help of a seasoned professional, George Lee. Mr. Lee worked for my parents, completing the HVAC installations in the homes they built. He was well known and respected in the area. George and I worked together, starting Superior Heating & Air Inc. Five years later George returned to his own company. I owe a lot to George and appreciate everyday of working with him.
2013 began a new chapter in my life. With the birth of my first child, Mason, marrying my wife Nicole, building a house, and a year later welcoming Nicole and I’s twins, Jackson and Maddison.
With the strict nature of my education, parents who were attentive and caring about my future it allowed me to make the right choices growing up and helped me to become the hard worker I am today. What started as two men and a truck turned into the company we are today. I am excited to see what the future holds!
