Now that spring is (hopefully) in the air… a lot of other things are too! If you suffer from seasonal allergies then you know how important it is to do everything you can to lessen the suffering without turning into a zombie. Luckily, there are quite a few ways you can improve your indoor air quality and help stop the sneezes before they take over.
HEPA HEPA Hooray! – Make sure your vacuum uses a HEPA filter so contaminates like pollen and pet dander don’t get blown back into your house. If you don’t want to lug the vacuum out, use a wet mop or microfiber cloth on hard floors to pick up dust and dirt.
Oh the Humidity – Controlling the humidity levels in your home will help your allergy attacks. Depending on your season and location, you may need to invest in either a humidifier or dehumidifier (or both!) to help.
No Smoking Zone – Cigarette smoke contains thousands of chemicals and lingers long after the act. Limit smoking to the outdoors, if you must partake.
Clean Air is the Best Air – Installing an air cleaner for your HVAC systems means that every time your system turns on, the air that flows through it is filtered and then distributed to the rest of your home.
