To truly be comfortable There really is one – and only one – right way to properly size an air conditioner and that is the way Superior has been doing it for years. That method is called "Manual J" load calculation. The Manual J calculation, a Software system, developed by the Air Conditioning Contractors of America, has long been the standard in the U.S. for determining the right size HVAC system. The big problem is that an air conditioner that is too small or too big will not work properly and will waste energy. Over or under-sizing systems is a common problem that causes higher energy costs with improper operation and DE-humidification along with indoor air quality problems dehumidify the indoor air.

There probably are still contractors around who use various rules-of-thumb like one ton of air conditioning for every 500 square-feet of home or something similar, but today’s tighter homes really require more precise calculation to make sure the right size unit is installed. Superior Heating and Air performs IAQ audits to pinpoint air quality problems in your home that can affect you or your family’s health, as well as their comfort and safety. We will place an AirAdvice IAQ monitor in your home for a few days where it measures temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and airborne particles in one-minute cycles. Then once a day it transmits the data via the phone line to our office for analysis.

The program generates personalized reports about your home's indoor air quality which can sometimes help determine the source of the problem. Using the report, our certified professionals will work together with you to select the best solution for a healthier home.

Maxxon's Therma-Floor is a gypsum underlayment designed to pour over hot water tubes or electric heating cables. It acts as a thermal mass for any radiant floor sytem. Therma-Floor encases the tubes or cables in crack resistant, non combustible gypsum.
