1899
Standard Sanitary pioneers plumbing improvements with the one-piece toilet, built-in bathtubs and hot and cold running faucets.
1929
American Radiator and Standard Sanitary merge to become American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning.
1955
American Standard becomes a pioneer in the new field of atomic energy by establishing a research division for the Atomic Energy Commission
1969
American Standard enters the space age by designing the Mobile Quarantine Facility for the Apollo moon landing.
1988
American Standard debuts a new contemporary brand of heating and air conditioning products for the way that people live today.
Consumers Digest magazine ranks American Standards Allegiance® 16 and Allegiance® 14 air conditioners among the Best Buys in central air conditioning systems in its June 1998 Home Comfort Buying Guide.
2001
In May 2001, American Standard is rated the most trouble-free HVAC brand among 14 leading manufacturers by readers of a national product-testing publication.
2002
In a survey of approximately 500 furnace installers and over 35,000 consumers, American Standard is one of only two brands named as more reliable than average by a leading consumer product-testing magazine in an article about furnace reliability
2003
The American Standard Freedom 80 Furnace is awarded Consumers Digests Best Buy Seal of Approval.
2005
In February 2005, a leading consumer product-testing magazine rates American Standard gas furnaces the most reliable brand among 12 leading manufacturers.
2006
American Standard introduces AccuClean, the most effective air filtration system in the nation. It can clean up to an astonishing 99.98% of allergens from the filtered air in your home
